Janet Denton

Tribute to Janet Denton

Hedge for Our Children has a story. I’m the founder because I had to be.

The Janet Denton Collaborative Hedge is dedicated to the incredible legacy of my dear friend Janet Denton.

I was in mediation school at Mediation Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, and heard the name Janet Denton over and over. I sought her out as soon as I felt confident enough. The first time and many other times subsequently when I met with Janet I was moving and a mess. She saw straight through my anxiety and trauma to the core of me. I told her my plan to build a dispute resolution machine. She told me, “You are going to change the world.”

“You are going to change the world.” – Janet Denton

Janet died from ALS on July 24, 2024. Her heart lived in her husband Steven H. Denton and their son Daniel. Her pride lived in her work. Janet Miller Denton Obituary – Times Record News

Her soul was shared without prejudice and I’m so lucky to have met her. She wanted to see the reality of families never having to go to court and of children never having to testify. She wanted to see healing instead of profit.

I share this message with her enthusiastic approval.
